Hi folks- First, I apologize for this naive question. We are trying to build a network management software that would manage networking devices via gNMI (https://github.com/openconfig/gnmi) for models defined in Openconfig. (http://www.openconfig.net/). I'm trying to understand where Redfish fits in here. 1. Is Redfish a framework that lets me define a schema and also lets me manage this over REST? 2. How does this compare to gNMI+Openconfig models? 3. Are there schemas defined for networking devices like routers and switches?
The Redfish Forum is working on network management topics, there is some information available about the work in progress, which probably answers your questions better than I can do here... Download these:
If you still pursuing the above goal, the Redfish Forum recently published a work-in-progress which contains the mapping for OpenConfig YANG modules to Redfish schema. The package also includes three mockups. dmtf.org/sites/default/files/standards/documents/DSP-IS0004_0.9b.zip
