I am looking at the Redfish hierarchy for achieving the following - 1. An action to get the remote device to generate a dump file with some requested info 2. Monitor the progress of step 1, on the remote device, since it can take 10s of seconds to complete 3. Get the generated file's name, corresponding to my request, from the remote (since it could be handling multiple such requests in parallel) 4. Get the actual file's contents (which can be several MB) and provide an indication of percentage completion (since it can take 10s of secs)
Of the above, step 2 can be done using TaskService. Please provide some suggestions on how to use the Redfish hierarchy to implement the other steps.
Thanks, Hari

Hi, Is there test suite for establishing compliance with any version of the Redfish or Swordfish schema? I couldn't find a mention of a compliance program on this forum. Thanks.

A couple of questions -
1. Can we add 'NVME/F' under the enum list for "NetworkDeviceTechnology" ? 2. Can we add an NVME/F section similar to "iSCSIBoot" and "FibreChannel" under NetworkDeviceFunction specifying a. Host IP b. Host NQN c. Target IP d. Target NQN e. DHCP-enabled setting of the above parameters f. etc.

StorageService.v1_0_0.StorageService has ServerEndpointGroups and ClientEndpointGroups to define the appropriate endpoints for a storage service. In addition, it also has a generic 'EndpointCollection' attribute (with no 'Server'/'Client' prefix). What is the latter intended for? Why is there no equivalent in StorageGroup.v1.0.0? Thanks, Hari

I am new to redfish and swordfish. In trying to understand the swordfish schema, I was going through the mockups posted on SNIA. The StorageGroup schema points to a volume collection. However, one mockup shows a list of volumes while the other shows a collection of volumes. I presume the latter is correct? See relevant cut pastes below-
/redfish/v1/StorageServices/FileService/Storage/StorageGroups/1 :-
"@odata.context": "/redfish/v1/$metadata#StorageGroup.StorageGroup",
"@odata.id": "/redfish/v1/StorageServices/FileService/Storage/StorageGroups/1",
"@odata.type": "#StorageGroup_1_0_0.StorageGroup",
...
"Volumes": [
{
"@odata.id": "/redfish/v1/StorageServices/FileService/Volumes/61001234876545676100123487654567"
},
{
"@odata.id": "/redfish/v1/StorageServices/FileService/Volumes/65456765456761001234876100123487"
}
],
...
Whereas /redfish/v1/StorageServices/1/StorageGroups/1 shows a volume collection :-
"@odata.context": "/redfish/v1/$metadata#StorageGroup.StorageGroup/1",
"@odata.id": "/redfish/v1/StorageServices/1/StorageGroups/1",
"@odata.type": "#StorageGroup_1_0_0.StorageGroup",
...
"Volumes": {"@odata.id": "/redfish/v1/StorageServices/1/Volumes"},
...

In Capacity.v1_0_0.CapacitySource :- >>>>>>>>>>>>> "ProvidingDrives": {
"anyOf": [
{"$ref": "http://redfish.dmtf.org/schemas/Swordfish/v1/DriveCollection.json#/definitions/DriveCollection"},
{"type": "null"}
],
"description": "The drive or drives that provide this space.",
"longDescription": "The value shall be a reference to a contributing drive or drives." <<<<<<<<<<<<
The longDescription uses the phrase 'A contributing drive or drives'. Should this be redefined as - "anyOf": [
{"$ref": "http://redfish.dmtf.org/schemas/Swordfish/v1/DriveCollection.json#/definitions/DriveCollection"},
{"$ref": "http://redfish.dmtf.org/schemas/v1/Drive.json#/definitions/Drive"}, {"type": "null"}
],
Or, Are you just saying that the Members@odata.count can be 1 inside the collection? If so, why mention it explicitly here (since Any collection could have a single member)
Thanks, Hari

Can you add an 'NQN' format(similar to iSCSI iqn format), to enable description of NVME/F Endpoints? Thanks.
