We have a requirement, where we need to let the redfish client know how much is the maximum configurable size available for the HugePages I could not find a compatible attribute at the Memory Schema. mraineri Is there any redfish endpoint already existing ? If not, is anyone else looking for the same? Can DMTF evaluate this and get a way to model this ?

mraineri - Can you please clarify the question: Is the new subscription creation via POST operation on /redfish/v1/EventService/Subscriptions allowed when the "ServiceEnabled" property is set to 'false' ?

If new subscription is not allowed when the "ServiceEnabled" property is set to 'false', we should send out a meaningful error message to the client which is subscribing to the events. I could not find a matching error response code at the Base.1.10.0.json.
Can we add a new registry as below?
"ServiceDisabled": { "Description": "Indicates that the operation failed because the service is disabled and cannot accept additional requests.", "LongDescription": "Indicates that the operation failed because the service is disabled and cannot accept additional requests.", "Message": "The operation failed because the service is down and can no longer take incoming requests.", "Severity": "Critical", "MessageSeverity": "Critical", "NumberOfArgs": 1, "ParamTypes": [ "string" ], "ArgDescriptions": [ "The url of the resource which is disabled." ], "ArgLongDescriptions": [ "This argument shall contain the name of the resource to be enabled." ], "Resolution": "Enable the service 'arg1' and resubmit the request if the operation failed." },

The redfish resources are associated with privileges. With this we can control which client can perform CRUD on which resources - by setting the permissions.
Are the events associated with privileges ?
While subscribing to events, user can specify filters based on the ResourceRegistries etc. Can we have a way to set the validation during the subscription ; so that we can allow subscribing for a resource only if that client is privileged to view that resource.

Hi,
I have a system which is managed by the manager-BMC. I have to model the interfaces to the host ( hypervisor) which is within this same system.
I have two options. 1. Model the host(hypervisor) interfaces under the "Manager(BMC)" as "HostInterfaces"
2. Model the host(hypervisor) as a "ComputerSystem" of SystemType "Hypervisor"(need to be add int the schema) ; then add the host interfaces as "EthernetInterfaces" for that system.
Please suggest which option is the right approach.

Thanks for the reply. Yes. Its the Ip address configured on the VLAN interface, so that the VLAN which is configured can get its own IP address. I want to configure the IP addresses (PATCH operation) under /redfish/v1/Managers/<manager_id>/EthernetInterface/<intf_id>/VLANs/<vlan_id>
This IP address ( IPv4 and IPv6) property in the VLanNetworkInterface schema should be a list of ip addresses, similar to the ones under the EthernetInterface schema.

Hi,
I have a scenario, where i need to provide the user a way to configure the IP address for a vlan interface.
The VLanNetworkInterface schema does not have a property for IPv4 address / IPv6 address. Please let me know how this needs to be handled.
I believe, the schema should be updated, to give these properties as we have in the EthernetInterface schemas.
Appreciate an early response / views on this.

Hi,
The specification says that
==>If the system has single VLAN, then the "VLAN" property should be displaying the data. The "VLANs" property will not be shown. ==>Once the user configures multiple VLANs then the "VLANs" property will be given, and "VLAN" will not be visible anymore.
My question is - When i have a fresh system, i will be displaying "VLAN" property with default values in them. The "VLANs" property will not be shown. How the user will come to know that to create the VLANs he needs to perform POST on the VLANs collection , which will be available after the VLAN creation?
My server supports multiple VLANs. So i think, i can directly display "VLANs" collection under EthernetInterface, and don't display "VLAN" at all. So even there is one vlan configured, i will be listing as a member of "VLANs"
Please share your views.

Use case is : The BMC can be managed by more than one management console. Those clients can create/delete/modify the host data. All the management consoles which are connected should have the visibility to any data change in the host. Since the BMC is the common entity for both the management consoles, BMC will need to keep those host data as files in its filesystem for which BMC should provide the file management interface to its clients.
