All - I'm fairly new to the spec, so please bear with me. I'm intested in having a space, perhaps in the ServiceRoot to store in an array a set of key:value pairs to better describe the host. For example, I would like the host to tell me what room, rack, and level it is for later power correlation. Current implementations have to inject identifying information through hostname or MAC correlation further downstream in whatever monitoring system is used. I would like the identifying info to present itself upon interrogation making correlation much more straight forward. Also, is it possible to have certain key information present in every metric request? If there is already such a space to add this info, please inform. I don't want to overload the description field with an embedded data model. Thanks! - Curtis

Hi Curtis,
Sorry I missed this post and didn't reply sooner. There is a "Location" object defined in many resources that allows an implementation to provide space for a lot of that information. Room, rack, rack-space are all defined in that object, so it's a matter of getting implementations that provide that support (and allow users to edit those properties and store those values).
