Hi I don't see any entry for NIC in LogDiagnosticDataTypes. Is this something which is under consideration or there is some way it can be specified? Regards

At the time only a handful of use cases were identified: performing a data collection of the BMC, performing a data collection of the OS, an performing a data collection of UEFI/BIOS. Do you have an example of how this works with a NIC? Is this specific to SmartNICs or is this more general for any type of NIC?

For the NIC as well it depends on the type of interface. For example, for meta the NIC uses NCSI over MTCP so this specific path will be used for collecting crash dump. Please let me know in case i was not able to answer your question.

That usage hasn't come up before, but it sounds reasonable to me. I'll raise it to the group for further discussion.

This issue is still under discussion in the Redfish Forum, but it's a fairly reasonable request, so I hope we can get something approved to the public soon. However, we can't disclose these discussions directly due to DMTF policy until we have a public release made available. If you belong to a member company, you can certainly join in on the discussions.
