I've noticed there is an ongoing work regarding FPGA extension, would anybody know who is leading that effort and is that still ongoing ?

That work was completed (as v1.0) and published in the 2018.3 Redfish schema bundle. Thanks for pointing out that the "work in progress" files are still up on the DMTF website - I'll have them taken down as they've been officially released. The bundle is available at the DMTF Redfish standard page: www.dmtf.org/standards/redfish - download DSP8010.ZIP Please take a look at the released schemas for the FPGA work and let us know if there's anything else needed.
