Redfish Release 2020.4 Now Available
Includes Migration to New Resource Definitions in Power and Thermal
DMTF’s Redfish®, Release 2020.4, is now available for public download. Designed to deliver simple and secure management for hybrid IT and the Software Defined Data Center (SDDC), the latest release of the Redfish standard includes 7 new schemas, 29 schema updates, and additional developer resources. The new release incorporates the migration to new resource definitions and features the addition of PowerSubsystem, ThermalSubsystem, Fan, PowerSupply, PowerSupplyMetrics
as well as the addition of EnvironmentMetrics for device-level reporting of environmental data. Additional AccountTypes have been included thus expanding functionality of AccountTypes in ManagerAccount to allow management of accounts for non-Redfish services or other functions.

• Redfish Specification v1.12.0 - Adds “restricted role” and “restricted privilege” concepts for user accounts.
• 2020.4 Redfish Schema Bundle – This .zip file contains the current versions of all Redfish schema. The bundle includes 7 new schemas, 29 schema updates. New materials include the addition of PowerSubsystem, ThermalSubsystem, Fan, PowerSupply, PowerSupplyMetrics as well as the addition of EnvironmentMetrics for device-level reporting of environmental data (for example, power and temperature). Three schemas have been replaced by new definitions, with the existing schemas deprecated in this release. New implementations should use the new schemas.
Conditions array in common Status definition has been added as this describes active conditions that need attention or user awareness.
- Power – replaced by PowerSubsystem, PowerSupply, PowerSupplyMetrics, and EnvironmentMetrics
- Thermal – replaced by ThermalSubsystem, Fan, and EnvironmentMetrics
- NetworkPort – replaced by Port (existing, last revised in 2020.3)

• Redfish Message Registry Bundle 2020.4 – The Message Registry Bundle (DSP8011) contains all released Redfish message registries. The 2020.4 release adds support for new Fabric and EthernetFabric message registries and added messages to Base message registry to support the Conditions array.
• Redfish Release 2020.4 Overview – This presentation provides detailed descriptions of each revision in Redfish 2020.4.
• Redfish Resource and Schema Guide – Updated for 2020.4, this human-readable guide to the Redfish Schema is designed to help educate users of Redfish. Application developers and DevOps personnel creating client-side software to communicate with a Redfish service, as well as other consumers of the standard, will benefit from the explanations in this resource.
• Redfish Property Guide – Intended primarily for schema authors, this newly revised reference helps with locating existing property definitions within the Redfish schema.
• Redfish Release History – Updated with each new release, this presentation offers a comprehensive view of each revision to Redfish since 2016.
